2003 Best of Rockford winners


The competition was fierce, and after hours of deliberation, the Best of Rockford battle is over! More than 100 local bands competed for performance slots at the annual On the Waterfront Festival presented by Associated Bank. The festival occurs annually over Labor Day weekend and attracts approximately 350,000 patrons each year.

This year there were 23 overall winners of the 2003 Best of Rockford Competition, which showcases the talents of Rockford-area musicians. Best of Rockford winners are chosen in several different music categories including rock, jazz, blues, country, oldies, folk, ethnic and gospel. The winners of the competition will be featured on various stages throughout the 2003 festival. Four of the 23 Best of Rockford winners were selected as Platinum Award winners.

The following performers are the 2003 Best of Rockford winners:

Platinum Best of Rockford winners: Agent Zero, The Jodi Beach Trio, Dry County, Juelane Fairbert.

Best of Rockford winners: Anavox, City of Rockford Pipe Band, Mesquite, Silver Creek Band, The Mesh, Dan Voll Combo Loco, The Bill Doll Jazztet, Orange, River City Sound Sweet Adelines, *Ernie & The Po’ Boys, Tyrannosaurus Sex, Michelle Maves, Belinia, Band of the Lost, Jinger Christal, Simply Fab, Clutch Cargo, Greater Rockford Barbershop Chorus, Crimson Tyde.
