Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, 415 N. Church St., will be the setting for a benefit to retire the medical expenses for Joyce Serrano, who died June 2. The event will also be a celebration of the life of a lady who contributed much to promote the River District. She was the owner of Serranos, 206 N. Main St., Rockford.
The benefit takes place at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17. Admission is $10 at the door. An auction and raffle will be held.
Live music will be provided by Justice III, Ryan Swanson & Friends, Boulas, Dan Voll & Combo Loco, and Cardenas III Generacion.
