'Back to School' with Junior Achievement Sept. 13

Junior Achievement (JA) of Rock River Valley has announced the seventh annual “Back to School Breakfast” to be held Tuesday, Sept. 13. The event will take place at Giovanni’s from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

The goals for the Back to School Breakfast are to raise $20,000 and increase corporate and community awareness about JA and its many programs. The breakfast is also to showcase how companies and individuals can become involved in Junior Achievement.

More than 250 business professionals, school administrators, teachers, parents and students will participate in this event.

Four prestigious levels of corporate sponsorship for the Breakfast include the Platinum Sponsorship for $1,500; Gold Sponsorship for $750; and the Silver Sponsorship for $450. Individual tickets are $35 each.

JA is the largest economic education organization in the world that educates and inspires young people to value free enterprise, understand business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. This is accomplished through volunteer business consultants who lead hands-on activities with students, kindergarten through the 12th grade. During the 2004-2005 school year, JA reached 10,000 students with the help of more than 325 volunteers throughout the community.

JA’s ongoing effort is to provide economic education to every student in Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson and Ogle counties—the area served. JA brings volunteers from area companies to the classrooms to share their real-world experiences with students to help them make the connection between education and future career success.
