Mark your calendars and save the date for Discover Summers Magic, scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, June 25 at Discovery Center Museum.
Plans are underway to provide guests with a magical evening as they watch the stars and planets converge. Tickets for the Museums largest annual fund-raising event are $85 per person and will be available May 1. A special discount price of $75 per person is available for members of Discovery Center.
The new Discovery Corps Committee is planning this years event and has chosen a Summer Solstice theme.
Discover Summers Magic will be staged throughout the main floor of the Riverfront Museum Park and will feature the Dean Moriarty Jazz Band, entertainment, silent auction, cash bar, free tasting by Lorden Distributing, raffle drawing, and sumptuous appetizers by Table 13. Recommended dress is cocktail or business casual. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event and sponsor tables for eight can be purchased for $675. Discovery Center Museum is a non-profit organization providing hands-on math, science and art experiences for all ages with more than 250 hand-on exhibits. Discovery Center, the nations 4th Best Childrens Museum as cited by Child magazine, is inside Riverfront Museum Park at 711 N., Main St., Rockford. General admission to the Museum is $5 adults, $4 children (ages 2 to 17) and free to children younger than 2 years and Museum members. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
