Legendary Itzhak Perlman joins the Rockford Symphony for the Gala Concert of the 2005-06 season Sunday, Oct. 9
The Rockford Symphony Orchestra (RSO) now has tickets on sale for An Evening with Itzhak Perlman and La Boheme for the general public. Great seats are still available.
Legendary Itzhak Perlman joins the RSO for the Gala Concert of the season on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Coronado Theatre. Undeniably the reigning virtuoso of the violin, Perlman enjoys superstar status rarely afforded a classical musician. Beloved for his charm and humanity as well as his talent, he is treasured by audiences throughout the world who respond not only to his remarkable artistry, but also to the irresistible joy of his making music, which he communicates with passionate appeal. The concert will feature three irresistible showpieces from the violin repertoire including Antonin Dvoraks Romance for Violin and Orchestra in F Minor, Op. 11, Fritz Kresilers Liebesfreud and Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. An Evening with Itzhak Perlman is graciously sponsored by National City.
Giacomo Puccinis La Boheme will be Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 8 p.m. at the Coronado Theatre. A fully-staged opera is a rare event in Rockford, and will feature renowned singers from across the country. Hear the awe-inspired music of Puccini as he tells the tale of young, starving Bohemians in 19th-century Paris. This imaginative mixture of love and loss, tears and laughter, has enchanted audiences for a century. The power of Puccinis music is inspiring and will be recognized by all.
