1980s pop-rock star Rick Springfield performed at the Coronado Theatre in the downtown River District Feb. 18. Springfields performance coincided with a filming of the concert for HD Net and for a DVD video to be released at a later date. Springfield has sold more than 18 million records and has achieved 17 Top 40 hits, including five in the Top Ten. He originally gained popularity as an actor, especially with his role as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital in 1981. At the same time, the release of his debut album with RCA, Working Class Dog, was in doubt. However, in 1982, he would go on to win a Grammy for Best Male Vocal Performance for his song Jessies Girl. Next up for CentreEvents is Xtreme International Ice Racing Feb. 24 and RSO Classics with David Schrader Feb. 26. For tickets and more info: 968-5222 or www.centreevents.com.
