CCS launches new opoly style board game
On Oct. 14, Rockford went up for saleRockford On Board, that is.
Comprehensive Community Solutions, best known for its YouthBuild Rockford program, officially launched the sale of this opoly style real estate trading game at a launch event at the Chicago/Rockford International Airport.
On hand for the event were many of the 40 local businesses and organizations that sponsored the game, along with other supporters of this unique fund-raising program that will benefit CCS, Inc.
The game, which is completely customized to reflect the best of Rockford, including such local attractions as JANE, the Sock Monkey, the Clock Tower, and original artwork on the game board itself.
Kerry Knodle, executive director of CCS, said the organization chose this project because it was truly a win-win for the community.
This is a game that promotes Rockford as a tourism destination, provides fun and education for families, and at the same time benefits a local nonprofit organization and its programs, Knodle said. He expressed thanks to the sponsors, volunteers, and staff who brought the project to completion.
The games are on sale at Grays Foods (six locations), Crimson Ridge Florists, Mincemoyer Jewelers, the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Rockford Park District, Minglewood (two locations), and online at www.rockfordonboard.org.
The games retail for $34.99, and make an ideal gift for family, friends, customers, and employees. Included in the game are coupons worth $1,600 as an added bonus.
