6th annual Tour of Water Gardens coming June 22-23
Natural Water Gardens 6th annual Tour of Water Gardens will feature more than 45 water gardens in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin and will benefit Pheasants Forever Highland Chapter.
With cascading waterfalls, rippling streams, aquatic plants, floating lilies and the flash of colorful fish, water gardens are a homeowners private backyard paradise or a business accent piece.
Natural Water Gardens 6th annual tour will cover several area towns in the stateline area. The self-guided tour runs two consecutive days (rain or shine), Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23.
Cost of the tickets will be $10 per person for both days (kids 12 and under are free). Tickets are available at Annes Garden Center in Freeport, 232-7920, and at Fritchens Nursery in Rockford, 874-8733. Profits from proceeds benefit Highland Chapter of Pheasants Forever, a non-profit conservation organization.
Natural Water Gardens chose Pheasants Forever as the beneficiary because of their mission to preserve native land, plants and wildlife species. This mission matches Natural Water Gardens professional goals, which are to create an environment conducive to supporting natural wildlife and restoring nature in your garden.
The Tour of Water Gardens features water gardens that have been professionally designed and built by Natural Water Gardens, Inc. or created by the do-it-yourself homeowner.
Water gardens are a dramatic, yet flexible feature that fit well into any type of landscape plan or lot size. Gardens on the tour cover various areas of the landscape property from large ponds with meandering streams to small 8 ft. by 10 ft. ponds.
The beauty of water gardens is that they can be highly personalized to suit any homeowner. No two are exactly alike. Visitors will be amazed at the wide variety and dramatic beauty of this years gardens.
