Two special concerts to be hosted by Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center June 14
The Heal America Today (HAT) Project of Sounds Of Good News (SOGN) Productions will present A Dream of HOPE! (A Day of Community Liberty and Allegiance) Thursday, Flag Day, June 14. Two special Concert of Freedom events will be hosted by the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, 415 N. Church St.
Special guest will be renowned motivational speaker and author Dr. Guy Doud, Ph.D., of Baxter, Minn. He was awarded 1986 National Teacher of the Year by President Ronald Reagan.
Day event 1 takes place at 11 a.m. This will be a Power of UNITY Youth Concert of Freedom for community leaders, featuring the Young Eagles Soaring (YES) Inspirational Choir and area youth.
Night event 2 takes place at 7 p.m. This is a Unity in the Community Concert of Freedom for families and friends, featuring regional choirs and groups.
Both events are free to the public with keynote messages by Dr. Guy Doud. Refreshments will be served. All donations will benefit the Young Eagles Success (YES) Club vision in collaboration with the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Services of Illinois Boys & Girls Club of Freeport, Ill. Event coordinator and music director is Carl A. Cole, SOGN founder and CEO. Sponsor is Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, and co-sponsor is Martin Luther King Jr. Community Services of Illinois Boys & Girls Club.
