A letter from the NAT Board

Dear Friends of New American Theater:

New American Theater, as you know, is facing some tough economic times but, with the help of its friends and supporters, is committed to providing live, high-quality theater in downtown Rockford!

Thanks to those of you who already responded with charitable donations as well as commitments of time and talent. Because of you, the theater’s short-term financial goals have been met. This is truly a success story, and you are truly NAT heroes!

Our work is not complete, however. We still have a ways to go between now and June 30. With the tough economic times that we face, raising this money will certainly be a challenge. It will take many NAT friends and supporters to succeed. Here are some ways you can help support NAT and keep the tradition of live, professional theater thriving!

$10,000 MATCHING CHALLENGE–EACH DOLLAR MATCHED ONE FOR ONE!

One great NAT friend is Mary Lou Harms. Mary Lou stepped forward and asked the board to join with her in issuing a matching challenge to the community. With commitments from Mary Lou and board members, every donation up to a total of $10,000 raised by Valentine’s Day will be matched one for one. Just send your gift to the New American Theater, 118 N. Main St., Rockford, IL 61101. That’s one sweetheart of a deal!

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR INTERVIEWS NEARLY COMPLETED

The response to our search for a new NAT artistic director has been overwhelming, and the process has been narrowed to four excellent final candidates. Board members, theater representatives and community members are participating in the nearly complete interview process. The Board plans to make its selection in early February.

PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS.

NAT would like to reach out to new friends and old friends, so please help us spread this great news by forwarding this e-mail to as many people as possible!
