A new show opened July 2 at A Movable Feast featuring the art of Marsha Goodheart and Karen Gines. A reception for the artists is set for 5:30-7 p.m., July 14, with complimentary hors doeuvres and a wine tasting.
Goodheart works in both watercolor and acrylic collage. A twist of magic is a thread that runs through all her paintings. Her work can be seen at Bennies Cleaners during ArtScene, spring and fall, and she often shows at Womanspace. She recently did a one-woman show at JustGoods gallery space.
Gines was the commissioned artist for the recent Mayors Arts Awards. She is known for her support of artistic fund-raisers in the community. She shows her work at Cusco Jacks, Winestyles and Bennies Cleaners. She is on the faculty of Womanspace, where she teaches painting and participates in shows.
The exhibit runs through Sept. 30 at A Movable Feast, 1641 N. Alpine Road, inside the Edgebrook Center. Admission is free. Store hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday. For more information, call (815) 986-0338 or visit movablefeast.com or kikibis.com.
