Abilities Center offers training and jobs
Abilities Center, a division of Goodwill Industries funded through United Way, is offering free training to qualified individuals in the following areas: Office technology, retail sales associate, warehousing/stocking (optional forklift certification), medical transcription, bank teller training and janitorial. Job seeking skills classes, motivational training and placement services are included.
Another program offers child development associate certification training. This training may also be available for those employed in the daycare field who are also Rockford Housing Authority residents.
Abilities Centers Community Technology Center is recruiting artists such as singers/songwriters (including rappers), free-hand artists, photographers and videographers. They have a professional-quality recording studio. Studio-Zoom merges the arts with computer technology.
Various sponsors include: Office of Rehabilitation Services, Rockford Housing Authority, Rock River Training Corporation, Department of Veteran Affairs and the Department of Education.
