The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, from the Scott Air Force Base, will perform two holiday concerts Saturday, Dec. 9, at Rockfords Coronado Theatre, 314 N. Main St.
Tickets are required for these free concerts. Concerts will be offered at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and doors will open 45 minutes beforehand for general admission seating.
This performance features traditional and contemporary holiday selections, featuring the Concert Bands talented vocalists. An audience sing-along and a visit by Santa will also be part of this fifth-annual Rockford performance.
The Rockford Park District is the Air Forces local host. Free tickets may be obtained at the Districts Downtown Office, while quantities last. Tickets are limited to six per request. If writing in for tickets, specify desired number of tickets and concert time, and send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Rockford Park District, 401 S. Main St., Rockford IL 61101. Captain Donald E. Schofield Jr. conducts the 50-piece Concert Band, the principal performing unit of the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America. The Band performs primarily for audiences in the Midwest, but also for people throughout many portions of the U.S., Central and South America, the Caribbean and the Azores, as musical ambassadors of the Air Mobility Command.
