Airport Receives Financial Reporting Award

The Government Finance Officer’s Association of the U.S. and Canada (GFOA) recently announced the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) has received their distinguished Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the ninth consecutive year that RFD has received this award.

An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement is awarded to the individual(s), department or agency designated by the government as primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR. This has been presented to the airport’s Finance Department.

“We are very proud to receive this award for the ninth year in a row. It shows the importance such a document plays in our planning efforts and future growth,” said Amy Ott, Deputy Director of Administration & Finance.

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR. The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
