Aldeen Golf Club introduces 'Laser Link'

People are busy, and it’s hard to carve out enough time to play 18 holes, but Aldeen Golf Club is the first to offer golfers Laser Link—a handheld device that you point, pull the trigger, and no matter where you are on the hole, it gives you the exact yardage to the pin.

No more wandering around looking for yardage markers, or paging through a yardage book and guessing how far to the flag stick. Just point and shoot, and you instantly discover your exact yardage.

“We are excited to be able to offer this new, affordable, high-tech amenity to golfers, which is made possible by a very generous donation from the Aldeen Foundation. The Laser Link device is great for speeding up play and will help players improve their game,” according to Duncan Geddes, PGA Pro at Aldeen Golf Club.

The system uses a laser range finder with flagsticks that have mirrors embedded. Golfers can point, pull the trigger, and receive the yardage information from wherever they are standing to the flag stick.

Duncan concludes: “The Laser Link is great for keeping play moving along and speeding up play. This is one more unique and exclusive amenity offered by Aldeen Golf Club. No other course in the region has this.”

There is a special introductory opportunity to try Laser Link at no charge during the next two weeks; then a $2 rental fee will be charged. In addition to the golf course, Laser Link is available to use at the Aldeen Practice Centre.
