Alexander Technique taught by Dr. Philip Schalow

March 31, a workshop and master class will be held for students of the Rock Valley College on the Alexander Technique, led by Dr. Philip Schalow, certified instructor of the Alexander Technique, according to Music Department Chairman Michael Beert.

Continuing a long history of rich educational opportunities, the Alexander Technique at Rock Valley College provides students access to a system that facilitates learning and performing by reducing unnecessary tension.

“Our students have gained a lot of experience in performing, and the Alexander Technique gives them that edge to make a fine performance a really great performance,” says Beert.

Two workshops will be held at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., in the Woodward Technology Center, room117. The master class will begin at 3 p.m. in the Educational Resource Center-Performaing Arts Room. The public is invited to each session.
