Alley Walk 2001 this Saturday
Bethesda Covenant Churchs 19th annual Alley Walk will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday on the church grounds at 2101 E. State St., Rockford.
Alley Walk is an outreach ministry to the neighborhood and community providing fun, shopping and entertainment. There will be food booths featuring barbecue, egg rolls, hot dogs, pork chop sandwiches, popcorn, apple dumplings and a tent selling fresh bakery goods.
There will be 11 garages with clothes for men, women and children, hardware, housewares, childrens toys and games, sporting goods, books and a vintage garage featuring antiques along with a Saks Fifth Alley featuring some of the finer clothing. This year, a new feature is a silent auction for a handmade quilt and a chair donated by Slumberland Furniture.
People can browse among more than 75 booths selling everything from homemade bird houses and seasonal decorations to quilted clothing.
Entertainment will be provided by Bethesda members and friends, and there will be an area of games and crafts for children along with a clown.
Admission is free, and proceeds will go to ministries in the church and the neighborhood. For more information, call 397-4212.
