Event locations at Riverfront Museum Park, Edgebrook and Logli on East State Street
Alpine Kiwanis has announced Brat Days is coming to downtown Rockford!
In partnership with Riverfront Museum Park, Rockford Park District, Discovery Center and Burpee Museum, a Brat Days site will be in the parking lot of Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St. 2007 Brat Days are slated for July 20-21.
This landmark decision to move from their Colonial Village Mall site to downtown demonstrates Kiwanians confidence in the new attitude, look, feel and turnaround of the downtown area. Downtown Brat Days Committee co-chairmen are Randy Larson, Jim Welte and Alan Brown. The Alpine Brat Days will also be at the usual sites at Edgebrook Shopping Center and Loglis on East State Street.
Funds raised by Alpine Kiwanis go to organizations serving citizens in the Rockford area, and, to date, more than $1 million has been distributed since 1971.
Discovery Center and Burpee Museum have special events planned for both days, and huge crowds are expected. In addition, a variety of local groups perform on the Show Stage in the Riverfront Museum Park parking lot. Parents and their children will want to be a part of the many museum activities planned for both days.
The Connecting Our Future capital campaign to expand Burpee and Discovery Center will be the primary beneficiary of this first Downtown Brat Days.
