Alzheimer’s Association fund-raiser features Rockford artist

The Alzheimer’s Association announces that Karla Lombardo, a Rockford artist, will be painting at Brio restaurant-wine-bar-patio Wednesday, April 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. as a preview for Unforgettable Art, the Alzheimer’s Association’s spring fund-raiser.

Lombardo has painted at Unforgettable Art since its inception, and Brio is a sponsor of the fund-raiser.

Lombardo studied fine art at both Rock Valley College and Rockford College. She uses mixed media, in combination with acrylic on canvas, furniture and clay. She has also designed and produced many stained glass pieces.

Lombardo has shown at various local galleries, including 317 Market St., Eu Gallie, Womanspace, and numerous private showings in homes and retail environments.

The public is invited to stop by Brio restaurant-wine-bar-patio April 19 to watch Lombardo as she works on one of her canvases. Brio will also have Sharon DeDoncker, co-chairman of Unforgettable Art, as a guest bartender that evening. There is no charge for this event.
