American Red Cross transitions from shelter to service center

Red Cross Service Center is open at Hallstrom School, where case workers are on hand to do emergency disaster assessment on a case-by-case basis. Individuals and families are provided with clothing, food and mental health services. Client assistant cards are given if needed for clothing and food depending on family size.

Hours at Hallstrom School, 1300 17th St., Rockford, are: Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Rock River Chapter has two Emergency Response Vehicles in the affected areas and will continue as needed. An Emergency Response Vehicle is a mobilized feeding unit serving meals and snacks in the affected areas.
