Greater Rockford Airport Director Bob O’Brien (right in photo at top) hand-picks the winner of two round-trip tickets to Las Vegas July 15 at Palace Shoe Service, 204 N. Main St. Palace Shoe Service owner Tom Giamalva (center photo) notifies the winner, Russell Huggard, who goes into the store for shoe shines and repairs about two to three times a month. Huggard plans to take his wife to Las Vegas. “I was so surprised I won, this is a real blessing!” Huggard said. The raffle was not only a means for the owners of Palace Shoe Service—father Lou Giamalva (right in bottom) and brothers Tom and David Giamalva—to support the airport, but also a way for the shoe business to get customers to try their Tauer & Johnson line of “made-to-order” men’s shoes.
