Announcing the 2nd Annual Red Shoe Run for Donor Awareness

The 2nd Annual Red Shoe Run for Donor Awareness is set for 8 a.m., Saturday, April 9 at Rock Valley College.

The Red Shoe Run for Donor Awareness is a competitive 5 K (3 mile) run with prizes in 14 age divisions as well as a one-mile fitness walk….all for a great cause!

All proceeds from the Red Shoe Run for Donor Awareness are used locally to off-set the costs of tissue typing for those wishing to join the National Marrow Donor Registry. Your entry fee and especially your pledges will create the fund helping us to cover tissue typing cost and recruit more donors. With your participation, the National Marrow Donor Program can bring hope and help to many more in Northern Illinois. Your pledges help save the lives of those who wait!

Brochures are available at the Rock River Valley Blood Center, 419 N. 6th St., Rockford, as well as a number of other community locations. For more information please contact Julie Tilbury or Jen Bowman at 965-8751.
