Annual Dairy Breakfast set for June 26

BELVIDERE—The 7th Annual Boone County Farm Bureau Dairy Breakfast will be held Saturday, June 26, at the Aves Dairy Farm at 6079 Manchester Rd., Poplar Grove. Breakfast will be served from 6:30 until 11 a.m.

Activities include a craft show featuring some of the area’s most talented crafters, wagon rides, children’s games, a petting zoo, an antique tractor and implement display, Cow Pie Bingo and more. Door prizes will also be given. Contact a member of the Young Farmers’ Committee or the Farm Bureau office for Cow Pie Bingo tickets. Bingo will consist of one cow, one cow pie and one prize (50 percent of sales will be awarded; the remaining 50 percent will be donated to the Boone County Farm Bureau Foundation). Tickets are $2 each or three for $5, so stop by and pick up your tickets before it’s too late!

Proceeds of the breakfast will go to the Boone County Farm Bureau Foundation. The Foundation was established for the purpose of providing scholarships and increasing agriculture awareness through educational means.

The menu consists of all-you-can-eat pancakes, whole hog sausage, applesauce, ice cream, milk and coffee. Prices are as follows: $4 for adults, $3 children ages 6-10, and children younger than 5 are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Boone County Farm Bureau Office or at the door for the same price.
