Alternative energy resources and energy-efficient upgrades will be discussed at the Oct. 17 meeting of Rockford Apartment Association at the Venetian Club, 2180 Elmwood Rd., across from Sportscore.
Bob Lindstrum, Rock Valley College energy grant writer, will talk about alternative energy resources, including photovoltaic from the sun and a new system to help with peak electric demand reduction. A Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) contractor will talk about furnace and boiler efficiencies and cost upgrades for high efficiency equipment. Safety issues will also be addressed regarding carbon monoxide poisoning. The contractor will also provide information on efficient use of lighting and ways to reduce water consumption. The time is now to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
