The ARC of Winnebago, Boone and Ogle counties is making some changes to its Project Art program. The first change is that there will no longer be classes twice a month. Instead, there will be classes four days a week, Mondays and Thursdays, from 3 to 5 p.m., and Tuesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon. The second is that one person no longer heads the Best Friends activities and Project Art. Annie Yoveff will be in charge of the Best Friends activities program, and Jennifer Olson is heading Project Art.
Project Art is a program created for individuals who have a disability, so they can explore the world of fine arts through visual arts, theater, dance and music. The project is a series of workshops and classes that enable each participant to experience and create original art. Rockford-area artists who demonstrate their techniques and provide individual assistance to each of the participants guide these workshops. Everyone is invited; people with disabilities are encouraged.
