Area museums benefit Golden Apple Foundation

The Golden Apple Foundation is pleased to announce that Burpee Museum, Discovery Center, Midway Village, Klehm Arboretum, Tinker Swiss Cottage and Rockford Art Museum have collaborated on an exciting new fund-raising event that will benefit the Golden Apple Foundation as well as people in the Rockford-area community.

The six area museums have each donated family passes to benefit excellence in education. One Golden Apple Museum pass entitles a family of four (two adults and two children) to visit each of the six museums listed from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2004. The passes, which are a $66 value, are available now for $50 each. A limited number of 200 passes will be sold.

“The Burpee Museum is pleased to support the Golden Apple Foundation in its effort to highlight our community’s excellent teachers and museums,” said Mimi DesRosiers, vice president of Development/Marketing at Burpee Museum.

“I think this is an exciting collaboration of education and arts-focused organizations working together to positively promote excellence in education in the Rockford area,” said Jim Waddell, vice president of Fund Development for Golden Apple Foundation.

The proceeds from the sale of the Golden Apple Museum passes will go directly to Golden Apple Foundation and its programs that support excellence in education throughout Winnebago County.

Golden Apple Museum passes can be purchased by contacting the Golden Apple Foundation at 226-4180.
