Auditions for 'Joseph' scheduled for March 7

Byron Civic Theater (BCT) will hold auditions for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat March 7.

Children ages 8-14 will audition at 5:30 p.m. for the children’s chorus. Children will sing one verse of “Joseph’s Coat” in a group. The song will be taught at auditions for those children who don’t already know it.

Adults will audition at 7 p.m. There are parts for brothers, wives, dancers and general chorus. BCT will also audition for the role of The Pharaoh. Prepare a verse from a song from the show. An accompanist will be at the audition.

Rehearsals will begin the following week. Rehearsals for the Children’s Chorus will be one or two nights per week, until the last two weeks of rehearsal when they will be held early in the evening. During the last two weeks, rehearsals will be every night and will run later into the evening. Auditions will be held at Byron High School.

Show dates for this production are Friday, April 22, Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, and the following weekend, Friday, April 29, Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1. Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 p.m. with the Sunday matinees starting at 2 p.m.
