Awards finalists announced

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce 2007 Manufacturers Appreciation Dinner, Conference and Exhibition will be on Wednesday, March 21, at Cliffbreakers Conference Center, 700 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford. All nominations have been evaluated, and finalists for the annual Manzullo Individual Business Catalyst Award, recognizing an outstanding community and business leader, and the 21st Century Manufacturer Award, recognizing an organization that has used technology to remain competitive and grow, have been chosen.

Finalists for the Individual Business Catalyst of the Year Award are: Bob Trojan of Rockford Linear Actuation, Inc.; Jeff Sherman of Woodward; John Oller of MARRV (Manufacturers Alliance of the Rock River Valley); and Ed Smith of FN Smith.

Finalists for the 21st Century Competitive Manufacturer of the Year Award are: Chem Processing, Inc.; Rockford Toolcraft, Inc.; Eclipse, Inc., and MARRV (Manufacturers Alliance of the Rock River Valley).

In addition to the awards ceremony, the annual manufacturers’ event March 21 will include a Manufacturing Technology Expo and Dinner. This year’s keynote speaker is Frank Ewasyshn, executive vice president of Manufacturing, Chrysler Group.

Steve Nailor, the Chamber’s interim president and CEO, said: “Frank Ewasyshn is a leader in manufacturing operations with responsibility for assembly, stamping and powertrain manufacturing operations, totaling over 30 facilities worldwide. We are excited to have Chrysler Group’s executive vice president of Manufacturing as our keynote speaker.”
