Ballroom Dance Club hosts Beloit event

BELOIT, Wis.—The Beloit College Ballroom Dance Club is hosting a “Welcome Back Dance” that will feature swing, salsa, tango, waltz, cha-cha and more styles of dance, Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the main dining room of Pearsons Hall on the Beloit College campus.

Live orchestra music, played by The Jack Farina Big Band, will accompany the dancing. Prior to the dance, an intermediate dance workshop will be held from 8 to 9 p.m., and a beginners’ dance workshop will follow from 9 to 10 p.m. Dancers are encouraged to dress up and come in singles or pairs.

Last year, the ballroom dance club had 160 student-members. The club sponsors open dances approximately once a month, and workshops are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Darrah Chavey at (608) 363-2220 or
