BBB offers arbitrator training opportunities
By By Dennis Horton, Better Business Bureau of Rockford
The Better Business Bureau of Chicago & Northern Illinois (BBB) announces an opportunity for attorneys or experienced arbitrators to provide service to the community by volunteering to help consumers and companies resolve disputes in a timely manner. Training for this rewarding program will be held at the BBB, 330 N. Wabash Ave. in Chicago Sept. 17-20.
There will be two separate training sessions to choose from, depending on your qualifications and interests. Training for the BBB Auto Line Program involves 23 automobile manufacturers and a separate training for our other arbitration programs. Auto Line training will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 17 and 18. Training for the Binding Arbitration Programs will take place on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 19 and 20.
Many people are looking for a positive way to provide meaningful community service, making this a perfect outlet where the consumer and company are both focused on obtaining a final agreement in a timely manner. It is a unique opportunity to be the judge while also experiencing our final dimension of complaint handling on buyer/seller issues which has been utilized by us since 1972, commented BBB President/CEO James E. Baumhart.
Successful completion of one a and one-half day training session is required. A modest $100 fee is required, which includes materials and lunch.
We encourage you to learn more about the qualifications and to reserve your place in the class as only a limited number of positions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For complete details on these training opportunities, call the BBB Director of Dispute Resolution, Roxanne Calibraro at (312) 245-2513 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
