BELOIT, Wis.It is difficult to be happy when circumstances are less than optimal. Jean Nauer presents her poetry and short stories as an attempt to find that happiness in her new book, Rise With the Sun (now available through AuthorHouse).
This collection features works that echo the authors striving to fill the void of self-worth. The poems speak to the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. Each piece is based on life experiences of the author and expresses the idea that ones environment is based on three needs: to value, to nurture and to listen. If these needs are inconsistent or lacking, it deprives and starves the very essence of who we are as human beings, says Nauer. Her work is the presentation of the struggle to cope with the inconsistent nature of life.
Nauer crafts a thought-provoking verse with an uplifting message in her poem, Lifes Many Values:
To those who need a life worth living/Do we have what it takes in life to get ourselves through the day?/Whether its mental, physical, emotional or spiritual./What kind of strengths will come our way?/Some people in life have it all, but when are we really complete?/Do we have what it takes to be positive in life, to overlook the agony of defeat?/Lifes many values lie deep within our hearts, just waiting to be found./The greatest challenge is in lifting ourselves to a higher ground.
Rise With the Sun is a beautiful collection that fills readers hearts with the provoking thought, What does it take to be happy in life?
