TDS US Automotive, which provides logistics services to the Daimler Chrysler Belvidere Assembly Plant, is holding a job fair this month to recruit employees for its second and third shifts.
Nearly 200 employees have already been hired by the company to fill the first shift at the TDS US facility in Belvidere.
Applications are being accepted for the position of Process Technician Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Jan. 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Belvidere Community Building, 111 W. 1st St.
Process Technicians are responsible for material handling, warehousing and packaging automotive parts in sequence for shipment to Daimler Chrysler. The work is primarily manual, and may involve physical exertion for extended periods of time.
Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, distinguish colors and pass basic skills testing, a background check and a drug screen.
At the time of application, potential employees will be asked to schedule a time to participate in the basic skills testing, which will be held the following week.
