The next meeting of BlackHawk Sierra Club will be at 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 28, at Severson Dells Environmental Education Center, 8786 Montague Rd.
Don Miller, naturalist/coordinator of Severson Dells, will speak about Where are the Best Wildflowers in Winnebago County? Miller has been at Severson since 1989, has won numerous awards including the prestigious Seth B. Atwood Conservationist of the Year, and is one of the most respected environmentalists of the region.
Miller will share where the best wildflowers in the county are found, the most beautiful spots for viewing, and the most elusive and endangered species. He will show some slides and then, as an extra-special treat, well take a walk around Severson Dells at night and listen for owls. People are invited to bring marshmallows and ingredients for Smores to cook around an open campfire.
The program is free and open to the public. BlackHawk Sierra Club is the local chapter of one of the largest national environmental groups in the country and invites all people concerned about the environment to join them.
