Friday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Inspiration Salon at Brynwood Shopping Center will hold a blood drive at the salon, 2951 N. Mulford Road, Rockford. Registered donors will receive Breast Cancer Awareness Post It Notes and a coupon from Damons Grill in Rockford. Helping to make cancer treatments possible is a fundamental part of the blood and marrow collection industries. Our wish is to recognize those battling breast cancers, honor the lives lost and celebrate survivors while providing support to families. It is our sincere hope that no cancer patient will ever go without treatment because of a blood shortage or lack of a matching marrow cell donor, said Jeniffer Bowman, PR manager, RRVBC.
RRVBC is the sole supplier of blood and related services, as well as the Marrow Donor Program donor center, to eight hospitals in six counties throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. To learn more, call (815) 965-8751 or log onto www.rrvbc.org.
