Bobby McFerrin to conduct RSO

Bobby McFerrin is that rare artist who has the ability to reach beyond musical genres and stereotypes for a sound that is entirely his own. A 10-time Grammy winner, McFerrin is music’s last true Renaissance man. He is one of the world’s best-known vocal innovators and improvisers, a world-renowned classical conductor, and the creator of one of the most popular songs of the late 20th century.

McFerrin will join the Rockford Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, at the Coronado Theatre in an imaginative concert blending classical favorites with unique vocal improvisation. McFerrin’s performance is sponsored by Marshall Field’s.
