Bonzi Productions presents Annie Warbucks (part two of Annie) as their second theatrical presentation of the summer, after a great run of West Side Story in June.
The sequels story and music are by the original writers of Annie, and the story has been heralded as better than part one.
The music is playful and includes several beautiful songs. The musical starts right where Annie left off, and the main premise is that Daddy Warbucks has to find a wife or otherwise lose Annie because of a single-parent law.
Real-life father and daughter perform together, as Samantha Bonzi plays Annie and Todd Bonzi plays Daddy Warbucks.
Sixty-five people, age 5 to 58, comprise the cast, which has been rehearsing since April. The show utilizes a live mini-orchestra.
Show runs Friday-Sunday, July 28-30, at Hononegah Performing Arts Center and is $7 for seniors and kids 12 and younger, and $9 for adults. Show dates and times are as follow:
Friday, July 287:30 p.m.;
Saturday, July 292 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and
Sunday, July 302 p.m.
