Tap-dancing musical comedy is based on George and Ira Gerswhins Girl Crazy, which won a Tony Award in 1992.
Boylan Catholic High Schools Theater Department presents the tap-dancing musical comedy Crazy for You Friday, March 31-Sunday, April 2, in the school auditorium.
The show, based on George and Ira Gershwins Girl Crazy, ran for 1,622 performances on Broadway, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1992. 1979 Boylan graduate Jodi Benson originated the role of Polly Baker, for which she garnered a Tony nomination and a Helen Hayes Award nomination.
Performances, which feature such tunes as I Got Rhythm, Embraceable You and Someone to Watch Over Me, are at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m., Sunday. Tickets for the $8 reserved seats are available in the schools Main Office (815- 877-0531) or at the Box Office prior to each performance. There will be a reception Saturday night for the audience, cast and crew in the cafeteria. Boylan High School is handicapped accessible.
