Boylan Titans advance in state playoffs

The Boylan Titans were the only local team to make it out of the opening round of the state class 7A high school football playoffs. Boylan defeated the Elgin Larkin Royals 49-12 at home last Friday night, Oct. 27.

The Titans will have another home game this weekend against the Corsairs from Mundelein (Carmel). The Corsairs posted a 5-2 conference record in the East Suburban Catholic League. The game will start at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4. WNTA 1330-AM will broadcast the game live from Titan Stadium. Pre-game coverage begins at 12:30 p.m.

The other two local division 7A teams who made the playoffs—Rockford Guilford and Belvidere—lost their opening round games. The Vikings fell at home last Saturday night to Rolling Meadows, 19-13, and the Belvidere Bucs lost a heartbreaker at home against Algonquin Jacobs, 8-6.

Fans can call the Boylan athletic office at 877-0531 for second-round playoff tickets and more information.
