Boylan vs. Belvidere: Battle of NIC-9's undefeated

This Friday night, Sept. 15, Boylan High School will be the place to be for area high school football fans.

The undefeated Belvidere Bucs will come in to Titan Stadium and look to hand Boylan its first loss. The Titans and the Bucs are both 3-0 coming in to Friday night’s match-up. The unfortunate reality is only one team will make it to 4-0.

Boylan is coming off a huge road win over Auburn last Friday night, Sept. 8. The Titans beat the Knights 49-0.

Belvidere is also coming off a huge win over East, 55-7.

The Bucs have outscored their opponents 139-21 while Boylan has outscored their opponents 129-7. The Bucs and the Titans have had only one common opponent—Boylan beat Freeport opening night 38-7, while Belvidere beat the Pretzels in week two 37-21.

Obviously, both offenses can get the ball in the end zone. This week’s key to victory will be held by one of the defenses. Which team will be able to stop the other?

This game has all the ingredients to be the most competitive and exciting match-up of the NIC-9 season. Game time is 7:15 p.m., but you’d better get there early if you want to get a seat. If you can’t make it to the game, it will be broadcast on WNTA 1330-AM. The pre-game show begins at 7 p.m.
