Budweiser Clydesdales in Freeport July 8

Horses made famous by beer commercials to participate in parade

Horses to make appearances at various businesses after the parade concludes

If you’ve never had the opportunity to tour Grant’s Farm or the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and Stables in St. Louis, Mo., you will have a chance to see the Budweiser Clydesdales in person and on parade in Freeport Saturday, July 8, courtesy of LRB Distributors and the City of Freeport.

This event will kick off at 1 p.m. at Tutty’s Crossing on the eastern edge of downtown Freeport, just off Stephenson Street (by the railroad tracks on Highway 75) and adjacent to the Pecatonica River.

See what it is like to handle these gentle giants as their hair is braided; watch as they get hitched up to the Anheuser-Busch wagon.

And, if you want to see them up close and personal, you should plan to be at one of the following businesses that are scheduled stops along the parade route—P.J.’s Stephenson Street Station, Stephens Market and Deli, Walnut Hill, Cherokees Pub, Cheaters, MVP’s, Mort’s and Sunshine Liquors.

The parade will also feature an antique truck, courtesy of Behr Salvage Yard, and food vendors at Tutty’s Crossing.

After the parade, see one of these world-renowned celebrities at one of the following: Cimino’s Little Italy Italian Fest (on Business Highway 20 East); Logan’s Bar & Grill on Highway 26 South (south of Blain’s Farm & Fleet); Freeport Lanes Jumpin’ Joes (on Business Highway 20 west toward Galena); and Cub Foods (Highway 26 south of Highway 75).

Whether you like horses or just like Budweiser, make plans to visit the Freeport area July 8 and share the experience.
