Button, button—we all have buttons

Button, button—we all have buttons

Wednesday, July 16, anyone with a button they wish to know more about should attend the “Fun Day With Buttons” at the Rockton Community Center at the corner of Center and Main streets, Rockton. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is free.

Organizers suggest bringing that old button box or jar because collectors will be available to discuss what the buttons are all about and their possible value. Vendors will also be on hand with buttons for sale for new collectors! The day is sponsored by the Winnebago-Eager Beaver Button Club of Northern Illinois.

Rockton is known for its historic sites and charming downtown business locations. The community center is the anchor of Main Street and is nestled between the millrace and the three historical storefront blocks. Other popular tourist sites to visit in the area include the Macktown Settlement and the Nygren Wetland Preserve.
