David J. Claeyssens, Brad Fowler, Mike Johnson and the Junior Golf Association of Greater Rockford are the 2007 inductees into the Rockford Area Golf Hall of Fame. The group will be honored Sept. 18 with a daylong celebration.

The day will start with a 10 a.m. shotgun golf outing at Aldeen Golf Club. Immediately after golf, the event will move to the Clock Tower Resort and Conference Center for dinner and a silent auction.

The golfing, awards dinner and silent auction are open to the public. This year’s guest speaker is Cindy Morgan. She is best known for her role as Lacey Underall in the hit movie Caddyshack. What area people may not know is during the mid-1970s, Morgan worked in the news department at WROK radio and was the weather girl on WIFR TV. She commented: “Rockford and golf go together like no other community in the country, and I’m looking forward to getting re-acquainted with Rockford after 30 years. Caddyshacki was a great experience for this sheltered, private school girl, and many people still consider Caddyshack one of the greatest sports movies of all time, and certainly the best golf movie. I would have to agree, so make your plans now to come out to the golf outing and dinner to benefit youth golf programs. I guarantee you will have a Caddyshack rockin’ good time! The gopher’s definitely going to be in attendance, too.”

The cost for golf and the awards dinner is $100 per person. For more information or to make reservations, contact the Rockford Park District at (815) 987-8864.
