Call to Prayer

Call to Prayer
(Central Florida Presbytery)
April 18, 2002 (8:00-11:00 a.m.)
Our Lord breathed this word into the Apostle for us: For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen youthat is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each others faith…For I am not ashamed of the gospel, it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
We have gathered to witness to Jesus as Lord and Savior, affirm the Holy Bible as the God-breathed rule for discipleship, and herald the call to holiness as exemplified in Jesus and explained in the Holy Bible.
We have gathered to support the faithful in Central Florida Presbytery and throughout our denomination who are increasingly persecuted for this witness. Humbly, we understand this persecution of the saints within the context of Ephesians 6:10-20.
We have gathered to pray blessings upon Sebastian, Floridas First Presbyterian Church, this presbytery, and our denomination for a peace, purity, and unity only possible through common Christocentric confession.
We have gathered to declare our partnership with all saints; praying the renewal of personal faith, encouraging corporate faith, and insisting members, employees, officers, and pastors subscribe to these confessions confirming the promises of church membership and ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA) so clearly and conclusively articulated in our constitution.
We rest in Him alone.
Participants in this vigil will be available for prayer and comment after the concluding benediction by The Rev. Paul E. Roberts.
Dr. Robert Kopp is the pastor of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Loves Park.
