Celtic Fest to be held July 21


The Rock River Valley Celtic Society is pleased to announce the entertainment line-up for its first annual Celtic Fest to be held Saturday, July 21 at Riverside Park in Roscoe, Ill. Scheduled performers include such well-known Irish and Scottish bands as Americay, The Miserable Few, Doon the Brae, Innesheer, Maggie McGuire, Donnybrook, Mike Crow and the Henleys, City of Rockford Pipe Band and Stone Ring.

Other planned events will include Highland-style athletic competition, dance events, historical re-enactors, children’s games and activities, Celtic food and beverage vendors and Celtic-themed merchandise. This family-oriented event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Admission is only $5 per person over age 12.

Celtic dancing will be performed by The Flying Celts Ceili Club, Rockford Irish Dancers, Scottish Highland Dancers, and featuring the Mayer School of Irish Dancing. Traditional food of Scotland, Ireland and Wales will be provided by House of Douglas Bakery and British Accents.

Riverside Park is located just west of Highway 251 at Bridge Street.
