Center for Sight & Hearing holds Broski Memorial Golf Tournament

The Center for Sight & Hearing is seeking sponsors and golfers for its Second Annual Gerald Broski Memorial Golf Tournament July 18. For information or sponsorships, call (815) 961-8647 or visit the Web site at

Funds raised will support Center services for individuals with vision and/or hearing loss in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

The best ball tournament is limited to the first 144 golfers. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Aldeen Golf Course.

Registration includes golf, cart and drink ticket for each nine holes. Teams of four or individuals may sign up for the best ball format. The Center will again have the blind putting contest, special hole-in-one contests on all the par three holes and prizes for best team score, longest drive and putt. All this will give help and support to local citizens, neighbors and friends with vision and/or hearing loss. The day will end with a steak dinner, awards and prizes.

Deadline for golfer registration is July 13 or the first 144 golfers.

Proceeds from last year’s outing helped to open the new hearing clinic. So far, more than 200 people have been served, and the Center helped provide more than 150 low-cost hearing aids. The Center has also expanded its Low Vision Clinic, Simple Solutions Store, Communication, Vocational and training services. This fall, the Center will celebrate 45 years of service to individuals with vision and/or hearing loss.
