Chamber of Commerce to host Women’s golf outing Aug. 16-17

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce announces plans to host its Second Annual Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Women’s Golf Outing and Caddy Auction, sponsored by Swedish American Center for Women. The two-day event will be Aug. 16-17, at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club.

“The Women’s Golf Outing is a chance for professional women to link business with pleasure,” said Patti Thayer, head of this year’s planning committee. “As with last year, golfing in this event will be women who make business decisions every day. It’s our chance to get away from the office, have a great time and ‘Power Network’. And best of all, the format is a scramble/best ball event, which opens the door to women of all skill levels.”

The event will kickoff Thursday, Aug. 16. The women will gather at the Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club at 5:30 p.m., for Dinner. Following dinner, each team will have a chance to bid on local golf professionals from various clubs; and local celebrity executives, who will serve as caddies during the golf outing. A portion of the proceeds will help fund a scholarship to the Leadership Rockford Program.

Friday, Aug., 17, at 7 a.m., will be the start of golf registration followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. All participants will enjoy a stimulating day of business networking and fun on the golf course. The day will end with an afternoon lunch and great prizes. Cost to attend is $150 per golfer. Register today by calling the Rockford Chamber of Commerce at (815) 963-8123 or log on to
