Charlotte’s Web offers Patty Larkin, Jazz Legends Feb. 4-5

Two outstanding acts come to Charlotte’s Web stages this weekend.

Saturday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m., Patty Larkin will perform at Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, 415 N. Church St.

Of Larkin’s latest release, Billboard magazine raves, “An absolutely stunning guitarist, easily on par with Bonnie Raitt, Larkin matches her instrumental chops as a vocalist and songwriter, making her a true triple-threat artist.” Of her live concert? “… Larkin turns in a riveting performance,” said the Chicago Tribune.

Larkin’s performance is co-sponsored by the Illinois Renewable Energy Association, WNIJ 89.5 FM and The Rock River Times. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.

Jazz Legends of Rockford VI

“The Ladies of Jazz” are back to entertain from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, at Tebala Shrine Temple, 7910 Newburg Rd. This is the sixth annual extravaganza of music and song. This year’s eclectic group of amazing performers includes Dorothy Paige-Turner & the Joel Ross Quartet, the Jodi Beach Trio with special guests, the Trish Ramsten Trio, Maxine & The Maximillians and the Doris LaMarca Band.

Tickets for “Jazz Legends” are $15 general admission, or $10 for students. The show is co-sponsored by WNIJ 89.5 FM and Mendelssohn PAC. For more information, call Charlotte’s Web at 964-2238.
