Cherry Valley Public Library District gets lighting upgrade grant

Cherry Valley Public Library District has received a grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation to do a lighting upgrade. The Library District applied for the grant in April 2006 and received a grant for $7,800.

The cost of the project was $12,290, and the library cost was $4,490. Estimated savings per year are $4,651 in electricity, heating and air conditioning and bulb replacement.

The official presentation was made July 18. Cherry Valley Public Library District thanks the Shaw Lighting Group of the Chicago area for a job well done and the Foundation for both the grant money and making the process extremely easy.

Rep. Ron Wait (R-68) was a featured speaker. He presented a program in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General’s office about Internet safety for parents to have a safe environment for their children while using the Internet.
