Chicago Tribune agrees: 1,000 Afternoons is great!

The Prop Theatre Group production, 1,000 Afternoons in Chicago received a very favorable review from critic Hedy Weiss in the Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2001 issue of the Chicago Tribune. Weiss agreed with our own theater critic, Edith McCauley, that the colorful characters from Ben Hecht’s columns were aptly depicted in this Prohibition era play now at the Storefront Theatre in Chicago. Weiss gave credit to Director J.R. Sullivan, a Rockford native, among others, calling the play “a big-screen gem captured in a small space.” The show comes “highly recommended,” and Weiss urges her readers, “Do whatever you can to see it.”
