Paragon on State, the ritzy bar and restaurant, will be the gallery for the first community group art show conceived by local artist and owners of Grace Design, Keith and Shari Grace. Childhood Icons is a display of works of 27 area artists striving to portray places and things that inspired them as children.
The artists involved in the project are Mike Bugler, Tom Clabough, John Deill, Frank DiGiovanni, Michelle Dorr, Alex Endsley, Dean Fairchild, Lynn Fisher, Baxter Grace, Cole Grace, Keith and Shari Grace, Matt Herbig, Liz Iven, Chris Julin, Jim Julin, Suzanne Kaufman, Scott Long, Deborah Newton, Val Olafson, Will Pfeifer, Ray Schulz, Scott Snyder, J.J. Swanson, Matthew Vincent, and Betsy Youngquist. They were all presented with the challenge by the Graces, and each artist has risen to the occasion with a diverse selection of works featuring pop icons, games and religious symbolism.
Childhood Icons runs through Jan. 24, 2004, during regular restaurant hours. For information, call 963-1660.
